Hollywood Boulevard Walk

This walk follows Hollywood Boulevard east from the TCL Chinese Theatre to the Capitol Records Building, about a mile and a quarter on foot. Along the way you will see the movie palaces built in the 1920s studio era, the hotel where the first Academy Awards were handed out, the theater that hosts the Oscars today, a viewpoint for the Hollywood Sign and the restaurant where screenwriters have traded gossip for a century. At Hollywood and Vine you will learn how stars land on the Walk of Fame, which you will be walking on the whole way.

Allow about two hours with stops. The route is flat and uses public sidewalks and the open areas of Ovation Hollywood. Start in the forecourt of the Chinese Theatre, next to the Hollywood/Highland Metro B Line station, and finish near the Hollywood/Vine station, so you can ride back.

The boulevard is busy. Keep your phone and bag close, cross only at signals, and know that costumed characters and sellers who approach you expect to be paid; a polite no thanks works fine.
