Building 4 - Salon, Shop and Administration
A stop on Skyline College Campus Walk, a free self-guided tour.
Building 4 is the long building just ahead, and it mixes the college's leadership with some of its most hands-on programs.
On the upper floors are the President's Office, the vice presidents and other college administration. The first floor is home to Cosmetology and The Salon, where cosmetology students train, and the second floor has The Shop, the barbering program. It is a reminder that Skyline offers career programs as well as transfer pathways.
Building 4 is also where you'll find the International Student Program and the Learning Communities, which group students into shared classes with counselors and mentors. They include First Year Experience, Kababayan, Puente, CIPHER and Umoja. If you'd like to start college as part of a group instead of on your own, ask about these.
Notice the views back across the quad to the arts and science buildings. Most of the core campus sits within a few minutes' walk of here.
Getting here: Continue along the path from Building 5. Building 4 is the long building just to the northeast.
Did you know?: The district paid 548,000 dollars in 1958 for the ridge-top land where the campus now stands.
Photo op: Look back west from Building 4 to frame the quad and Building 5 behind the walkway.
