Skyline College Campus Walk

Skyline College opened in the fall of 1969, the third college in the San Mateo County Community College District, on a ridge-top site the district had bought a decade earlier. The name comes from the ridge itself and from Skyline Boulevard nearby. On a clear day you can see the Pacific from the west side of campus. On many summer days the fog rolls in over the hills instead, so bring a layer.

This walk takes about an hour: nine stops, around two kilometers on foot, a few minutes at each. It starts and ends at Building 2, Student Services, where most of the help with applying, paying and planning lives. From there it circles through the arts, science and student life buildings around the central quad, then heads out past the gym and athletic fields to the trail toward Sweeney Ridge.

The college refers to its buildings by number, and so does this tour. Visitor parking is in Lot D, next to Building 2. All stops are outdoors in public areas. Buildings keep their own hours, so check the college website before planning to go inside.
