Building 23 - Science and Technology

A stop on Canada College Campus Walk, a free self-guided tour.

The newest academic building at the top of campus is Building 23, the Science and Technology Building. Ground was broken in March 2018, and it opened in August 2019. Its 50,000 square feet hold classrooms, laboratory classrooms and faculty offices for science, math and technology programs.

This is where students take courses in computer science, radiologic technology, biology, anatomy and physiology, earth science and astronomy. If you are planning a health career or a transfer in a science field, many of your lab hours would happen here. The college's Science and Technology Division has its office in this building as well.

The building was designed and built by a design-build team led by HGA and McCarthy Building Companies, and it was finished ahead of schedule.

The upper campus is a good place to turn around. Canada sits on a hillside in the western part of Redwood City, and on a clear day you can look out over the valley toward the Bay.

Getting here: From Building 17, walk north up the path past Building 18 to the large building at the top of the campus.

Did you know?: Canada has an astronomy program and its own campus observatory, listed on the college map as Building 24 on the west side of campus.

Photo op: Frame the front of Building 23, then turn east for a wide shot over the campus roofs toward the valley.
