UT Austin Campus Walk

This walk circles the heart of the University of Texas at Austin, the campus generations of students have called the Forty Acres. You start beneath the Main Building and its 307-foot Tower, head west to the red-tiled buildings and the student union, then south to the Harry Ransom Center and the South Mall. Across Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard you meet Ellsworth Kelly's Austin and the Blanton Museum of Art, then swing east past the football stadium to the LBJ Presidential Library before returning through campus to the Turtle Pond and the quiet Tower Garden.

The loop is about two miles on sidewalks and campus malls, with some steps and slopes, and takes about two hours at an easy pace. Every stop can be enjoyed from outside. The museums and libraries keep their own hours, and some charge admission, so check their websites if you want to go in. On football game days, expect big crowds and closures near the stadium.
