Sayulita: Surf Town Walk

Sayulita was a quiet fishing and farming village until traveling surfers found its waves in the 1960s. Today it is one of the best-known beach towns on the Riviera Nayarit, and Mexico named it a Pueblo Magico in 2015.
This loop covers eight stops in about an hour and a half, including time to look around. Everything is within a short walk of the main plaza, where you start and finish, and the longest leg is well under a kilometer. Wear sandals you can walk in sand with, bring water and a hat, and plan on strong sun even in winter.
You will cross the arroyo, watch surfers at the river mouth, learn how the town beach works for beginners and swimmers, and climb the short path through the cemetery to a sheltered cove before heading back through the downtown streets. Stores and stalls change often, so this tour points you to places, not businesses.
