A stop on Hiller Aviation Museum: Unofficial Guide, a free self-guided tour.
Drones, or unmanned aircraft, range from small consumer quadcopters to large military aircraft like the Condor overhead. Small drones use electric motors, GPS and stabilizing electronics, so they are easy to fly.
They are now used for photography, mapping, crop monitoring, inspecting bridges and power lines, search and rescue, and deliveries.
The museum offers drone activities and programs, along with displays on new aircraft such as electric air taxis, which several Bay Area companies are developing, and other ideas that might change how we fly.
Check the schedule at the front desk for drone and other hands-on programs during your visit.
