Orient Bay Beach - The St Tropez of the Caribbean

Stop on St Maarten Island Paradise Tour, a free self-guided tour.

Orient Bay is St Maarten's most famous beach, often called the 'St Tropez of the Caribbean' for its vibrant, upscale atmosphere. This two-mile stretch of pristine white sand and turquoise water is the island's longest beach and offers something for everyone. The southern end is family-friendly and lined with restaurants, beach bars, and water sports operators. You can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas, enjoy beachside dining, or participate in activities like jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, and kiteboarding. The northern section is clothing-optional and attracts a more adult crowd seeking to sunbathe au naturel. The water here is absolutely spectacular crystal clear with gentle waves perfect for swimming. Several beach clubs along the shore offer full service, including food and drinks delivered to your lounge chair. Don't miss the opportunity to take a short boat trip to nearby Pinel Island or Tintamarre Island, both offering even more secluded beaches and excellent snorkeling. Orient Bay has maintained its natural beauty despite its popularity, with no high-rise development blocking the views. The consistent trade winds make this a premier spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing. On Sundays, locals flock here for beach parties with live music and dancing. Whether you want action and activities or just a perfect beach day with all amenities, Orient Bay delivers the quintessential Caribbean beach experience.
